Fillet oranges - it's that easy
Place the orange on the cutting board and roll the fruit back and forth with your flat hand. This internally detaches the outer skin from the fruit.
- Now cut off both end pieces. Do not set the knife too far. Stick to the outer caps of the orange.
- Cut the bowl lengthways downwards. Leave two centimeters between the cuts. Now pull the peel off the fruit.
- The best way to remove the white fiber residue from the peeled orange is with your hands.
- To release the fillets without skin, place the knife just below the thin cuticles. Cut the orange into the middle of the fruit.
- Once you have cut the fillets from the tropical fruit, you can chill and serve them.
- Incidentally, the rest of the orange is also very useful. Take the remaining fruit mass and squeeze it out.
- You can use the resulting fruit juice for cooking in a sauce. For example, freeze it in portions in the ice cube container.
