Hide folders with Windows on-board resources
Windows itself offers an easy way to hide folders. To do this, you simply have to change its properties:
- Right-click on the folder you want to hide and select "Properties" from the context menu. It will certainly open a new window.
- In the "General" tab, you will find the "Hidden" option in the "Attributes:" area. Mark this with a tick and confirm the change with the OK button. The folder is no longer displayed.
- To make the directory visible again, you must first open the folder options or explorer options in the Control Panel and activate the option "Show hidden files, folders and drives" in the "View" tab.
Hide folders with the Wise Folder Hider
Folders can be hidden much more conveniently with the free Wise Folder Hider. This ensures that folders are only made visible again after entering a password.
- When you start the software for the first time, you must first set a master password that will later be used to protect all folders.
- To hide it, simply drag the corresponding directory into the program window or select it using the "Hide folder" button. In both cases, the folder is immediately hidden.
- You make the folder visible again by executing the "Visible" operation in the Wise Folder Hider.
