Lightroom offers extensive options for organizing your pictures into folders. Of course, these folders can also be moved. We show how it works the easiest.
How to move folders in Adobe Lightroom
If you move a folder with images in Explorer, Lightroom will no longer find this folder. You will then not be able to access existing edits and will have to laboriously synchronize the folder again. It is therefore better if you move folders within Lightroom.
- First, open the library in Lightroom.
- Open the "Folders" tab on the left-hand side and check whether the drives between which you want to move are already included here. If not, go to the plus icon> "Add folder" and add the appropriate drives to Lightroom.
- You can then simply move a folder using drag and drop. To do this, click on it with the mouse and drag it to the desired directory.
- Lightroom then displays a message that the selected folder will also be moved to the data medium. Confirm here with "Move" and the folder will be moved to the new location.
In the next post we will show you what lies behind the Soft Proof in Lightroom and how you can use it.
