Origin: Add an external game - how it works
If you want to manage your complete game library with Origin, you have to add external games individually. We show how this works in this practical tip.
Origin: Add external games to the library
In your Origin games library, you will generally only find those EA games that you bought directly in the games client. With one trick you can also add all other games installed on your PC. That's how it's done:
- Start Origin on your PC and log in with your EA account.
- In the top bar, select the entry "Games" and then "Add non-origin game".
- Now use the Explorer to find the EXE file that starts the game. You can usually find these directly in the installation directory of the respective game.
- Note: If you add games from another client such as Steam in this way, you can start the game via Origin, but the Steam platform will also open automatically, in which you must also be logged in. Origin only creates a link to the respective game, but does not replace other game platforms.
We'll tell you what you can do when your Origin games are gone in another article.
