Origin hangs on "Ready to Download" - you can do that
If Origin is stuck in the Prepare Download process, games or updates cannot be downloaded. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Origin down: Prepare to download
- If Origin reports "Prepare to download" for minutes, the error is 196613: 200. There is neither a clear cause for this, nor a clear solution.
- However, before performing the actions in the next paragraph, you should check Origin's system status. In the best case, the problem lies with Origin itself.
- If the Origin servers are overloaded, downloads can temporarily no longer be started. You can find out whether this is the case on AlleSt Störte.de. In this case, unfortunately, only one thing helps: waiting.
Prepare to Download: Solve Origin Problem
- First switch off your anti-virus program briefly and repeat the download. If that doesn't work, start Origin as an administrator.
- Click on the button of the same name in Origin at the top left and select the "Application Settings". Activate the "Origin Beta participation" option at the bottom. Then the hopefully error-free beta is installed.
- Alternatively, you can try the secured download beforehand. Go to the "Advanced" category on the left and activate the "Download in safe mode" option.
- Switching to another user account also helped some users. If there is only one user on your computer, you can create another Windows user at any time.
- Origin is often hampered by the work of other programs. Origin recommends a clean start with as few services as possible. To do this, you must deactivate all services under Windows and switch off all autostart programs.
- If all of this does not help, all you have to do is reinstall Origin. If that doesn't work either, remove Origin again with the free GeekUninstaller.
