Origin is already running - you can do that
In this article, we'll explain how to fix "Origin is already running" error. The error code always appears when Origin is still running as a process in the background. So it is best to find and end this process.
Use "Task Manager" to solve "Origin is already running"
If Origin gives you this error message, it is probably still running as a process in the background. In Windows 10, this is not immediately apparent in the Task Manager. Therefore, follow the steps below to make sure.
- Open the Task Manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del).
- Now look in the "Processes" tab to see if Origin is listed there. If so, select it. Then click on "End Task" at the bottom right.
- If Origin is not listed, switch to the "Details" tab. Now look for the "Origin" process. It may be below because the list is sorted alphabetically.
- Then click on the process and end it with "End Task" at the bottom right.
