OS X Mavericks: Turn off notifications - how it works
On your iMac or MacBook Pro, you can turn off notifications on Mac OS X Mavericks. We'll tell you how this works here.
Disable notifications on OS X Mavericks
As with the iPhone or iPad, the notification center is available on OS X Mavericks. The information is often useful, but too many notifications quickly become annoying. But just like with iDevices, the notification center can also be customized on your Mac.
- To do this, first open the settings and click on "Messages".
- Here you can see all the applications that you can activate and deactivate for notifications.
- For example, select the "Game Center". Here you can set whether messages should be displayed on the lock screen or with a banner. You must make this setting for each application.
- Alternatively, the "do not disturb" function can be activated. Then the notifications will not appear in a period you have defined.
