OS X Mavericks: Don't automatically turn off the screen
In OS X Mavericks, you can choose not to have your screen turn off automatically. Our practical tip tells you exactly how to do this.
Turn off the automatic darkening of the Mac screen
You can deactivate the automatic screen dimming in the energy saving settings. You can find the corresponding option as follows:
- Open the system settings in your dock.
- Click on the "Save energy" menu item.
- You can now move the controller further to the right under "Hibernation for monitor". So your screen will only darken after a later time.
- You can also remove the check mark next to the option "Darken the monitor slightly when running on battery". This way, your monitor stays bright on the go.
