OS X Mavericks: route planning with the new map app
With the map app, OS X brings route planning to your Mac in a system-integrated manner. Here you can not only look at maps, but also calculate routes and send them directly to your iPhone or iPad.
Plan routes with your Mac and share them with your iOS device
- Open the Maps app.
- Map planning works in a similar way as you know it from other route planning services. Click on the "Route" button in the menu bar, then enter the start and destination in the input fields provided. You can choose between pedestrian and car navigation.
- Once the app has calculated your route, you can provide the route planning under "Storage" in various ways. For example, your routes can be sent directly to your iPhone or iPad here. You can also export your planning as a PDF.
The iBooks app is also new to Mavericks. Here we show you how to use it on a Mac.
