OS X: Analyze WLAN with the network utility
Mac OS X includes a WiFi network utility. With this program you can analyze your network environment or carry out an error analysis. You can find out how this works in this practical tip.
Mac OS X - Analyze WLAN with the network utility
- Hold down the [ALT] key and click on the WLAN symbol in the task bar. In the picture gallery you can see which icon it is.
- Select "Open Diagnostics for Wireless Environments" at the bottom of the menu.
- You may be asked to enter your Mac password.
- An introduction to the network utility program is now given. Click on "Continue".
- Now the diagnostic test starts. After the test, the tool will tell you whether your WiFi connection is working. If it does not work, a summary of the possible errors will be listed and suggested solutions.
