OS X Yosemite Compatibility: It works on these Macs
In autumn 2014, Apple plans to release the new OS X Yosemite. We'll show you which Macs are compatible and get the new update.
Yosemite runs on all Mavericks Macs
According to Apple, Yosemite should be compatible with all Macs that currently have OS X 10.9 Mavericks installed. This means that the system requirements of the new update have not changed.
The following devices receive the new OS X Yosemite
The compatibility list provided by Apple is for the trial version of Yosemite. However, this compatibility will hardly change for the final version of Yosemite.
- iMac (mid 2007 or newer)
- MacBook Air (late 2008 or later)
- MacBook (late 2008 aluminum or early 2009 or later)
- Mac Mini (early 2009 or newer)
- MacBook Pro (mid / late 2007 or later)
- Mac Pro (early 2008 or newer)
