Outlook 2010: Manage multiple POP3 mail accounts with one inbox
You set up multiple email accounts in Outlook 2010. Outlook then delivers a separate inbox for each account. If you only want to manage all incoming mails in a common inbox, the best thing to do is as follows.
Merge POP3 accounts in Outlook
Note: The following procedure only works with POP3 accounts, not with IMAP accounts.
- Outlook sets up a separate PST file for each email account that is set up. To route incoming mail to a shared PST file instead of the PST file associated with the mail address, open the "File" menu and then select "Account settings" twice.
- In the "E-Mail" tab, you can see all the email addresses that have been set up. Select the first address you want to redirect. Then click on "Change folder" (see screenshot). Set the PST file that will serve as the "pool" for the inbox. Repeat this for all other mail addresses.

- Then all incoming messages end up in a common inbox folder. Advantage: Rules for this inbox then work for all messages, even if they have been sent to different accounts.
Note: The procedure also works for RSS feeds.
