Block mail senders in Outlook with a filter
With almost all email providers, you can block unwanted email senders so that Outlook no longer downloads the messages. Alternatively, you can block the sender using a filter in Outlook. The emails still reach your mail client, but are no longer displayed in the inbox folder.
- To do this, first click on "Start" and then on "Move".
- Select the "Rules" with the sub-section "Manage rules and notifications".
- You can use the wizard to determine how you want to proceed with the sender in the future. To skip the "Check messages on arrival" option, click "Next". To do this, opt for the "With specific words in the return address" option.
- Click on the "specific words" option and enter the appropriate email address. Add the sender to the filter by pressing the "Add" button and confirming with "OK".
- After clicking on "Next" you can choose between the options "Delete this" or "Delete this permanently".
- Finally click on "Finish" and confirm your decision with "OK".
