Outlook does not update - what to do?
First, make sure your computer is connected to the Internet and has a constant connection. Try to open any page in the browser - does it work? If you use Outlook in the browser, the error can also be in the browser:
- Your browser may also be out of date, so you should update it. In the CHIP download area you will always find the latest browsers for free download.

Outlook does not update: is there a problem?
- Outlook servers may not be available due to maintenance work or a malfunction.

Outlook software: update fails
If you use the Outlook software to retrieve another email address (GMX, Web.de, Gmail, etc.), incorrect settings may be to blame. It often happens that the data has to be re-entered to access the mail account because something has changed:
- Open Outlook and click "File"> "Account".
- Now select "Account Settings" or "Add Account" if your current account is not shown.
- Now you have to make the settings: To do this, click on "Manual configuration or additional server types" and then on "Next".
- Then activate "POP or IMAP" and enter the login information on the next page. You can find the exact information from your provider under the keywords "IMAP" and "POP3".
