Outlook: Open blocked attachments - how it works
In this practical tip, we will tell you how to unlock and open blocked attachments in MS Office Outlook.
Open blocked attachments in Outlook
Note: This practical tip is based on Outlook 2013 under Windows 7.
- Open the registry editor by typing "regedit" under "Start" and "Run".
- Change to the key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Office \ 14.0 \ Outlook \ Security". The 14.0 represents the version number and can therefore differ depending on the system.
- If this key does not exist, right-click on Outlook and then select "Key" under "New".
- Right-click on "Security" and select "String" under "New". Name this "Level1Remove" and then open it.
- Enter the file types (for example EXE) that should no longer be blocked. Separate multiple file types with a semicolon (;).
