Write Outlook emails directly from the desktop
You can also write and send Outlook emails to certain recipients directly from the desktop. Instead of starting Outlook with a new e-mail and typing the recipient in the address line or inserting them from the contacts, there is a faster solution.
Create an email link on the desktop
Simply create a link to the desired email address on the desktop.
- To do this, right-click on the desktop and select "New | Shortcut".
- Enter the following command as the storage location: "mailto: " (without quotes)
- Instead of "contact", enter the name of the recipient, for example "max", instead of "domain name" the address, for example "musterman.de". In the example, the entry is: mailto:
- After "Next" give the new link a meaningful name, such as the name of the recipient.
- After "Finish" a double click on the new link is sufficient and the message window is visible, in which the recipient's email address is already entered.
Note: The link will of course only lead to Outlook if the Microsoft program is also set as your standard email program.
