Outlook: Send emails with a delay
You can send emails in Outlook with a delay of a few minutes, hours or days. We'll show you how it's done.
Send emails in Outlook with a time delay - Outlook 2007
- Write your email as usual and then click on the "Options" tab above.
- In the "More options" group you will now find a button that says "Delay transmission".
- Click Message Options, and then locate the Delivery Options category.
- Activate the checkmark in front of the item "Delay transmission to" and select the desired date and time.
- If you click "OK", the window closes again. Use the "Send" button to send your message as usual.
- The email now remains in the outbox and will only be sent at the specified time. If your computer is not connected to the Internet at this time, the mail will only be sent the next time you connect. Until then, you can still edit or delete the mail.
Send with a time delay - Outlook 2010
In Outlook 2010, you also first click on "Options" at the top of your mail window.
- There you will find the "Delay transmission" button relatively far to the right. Then proceed as described above.
