Outlook: Mark mail for follow-up
The "follow-up" function in Outlook allows you to mark important emails for "resubmission". This practical tip shows you where you can find the appropriate option.
Flag tracking for emails received
- Click once on the email message you want to flag.
- If you are in the "Start" tab, you can see the corresponding field immediately:
- At the top of the menu bar, click the "Follow up" box, which has a red flag.
- Now go to "Mark Message". In the column on the right you can then directly create a task in Outlook.
- Depending on the version of Outlook, you will also see flags of different colors for preconfigured follow-up appointments (tomorrow, next week, etc.); alternatively, you can also set reminder alerts.
- The tasks or appointments created in this way are then flagged to the right of the inbox.
Mark self-sent emails for tracking
- First, create a new email message.
- At the top of the menu bar you will also find the red flag "Follow up"
- Click on it and choose "Custom".
- In the new window you can now select the exact options: Follow-up for yourself or the recipient of the mail. Of course, you can also choose a hook for both.
- If necessary, enter the reminder date and confirm with "OK".
