Overwatch: All classes at a glance
Since Blizzard's new hero shooter "Overwatch" depends heavily on a balanced team, we give you a class introduction so that you can easily counter all moves.
Offensive heroes - Overwatch class guide
Genji, McCree, Pharah, Reaper, Soldier 76 and Tracer are particularly good for taking opposing points by storm.
- Flanking: Genji and Tracer rarely stay with the team. Your task is to flank your opponents and distract and eliminate annoying snipers and healers. McCree has the task in his own team to stop these heroes. With his "Flashbang" + "Fan the Hammer" combo, you can kill many heroes directly.
- Tank Killer: With Reaper and Soldier 76 you can take on almost any tank. With his shotguns, Reaper deals a lot of damage at close range. With Soldier 76 you stay at a medium distance and thus prevent the tanks from being dangerous to you in close combat.
- Offensive heroes are basically all-rounders. You can deal a lot of damage, but you can only take it to a limited extent. Your advantage over the other heroes is your agility.
Defensive Heroes - Overwatch Class Guide
Bastion, Junkrat, Mei, Hanzo, Torbjörn and Widowmaker ensure that your opponents are kept from the point as long as possible.
- Block routes: Use Mei and Junkrat to block important routes. With Mei you can use the ice wall and with Junkrat it is often enough to shoot grenades in a direction from which opponents are approaching.
- Deal damage: Bastion has the highest damage values in Overwatch. Torbjörns Turret also makes it difficult for opponents to enter areas. So that you don't die, you should change your position often. So you always have the surprise effect on your side.
- Sniper: With Widowmaker and Hanzo you have the upper hand over a long distance. With Widowmaker in particular, it is important to get headshots, as this is the only way to receive a damage bonus. Your skills also help the team track down opponents early on.
Tanks - Overwatch class guide
D.Va, Reinhard, Roadhog, Zarya and Winston can take a lot.
- Plug in, hand out: As a tank, you should always be the main target of your opponents. However, choose your struggles and do not try to compete against an outnumber or go out alone.
- Support team: Although you don't play a direct support class, your skills help the team. Reinhard's shield, Winson's dome or Zarya's barriers give the team protection and also allow heroes with less life to fight close to the front line.
- Securing the target point: You can do a lot of damage at a short distance. Therefore, do not carry out duels far from the point, but plunge into the fray.
Support - Overwatch class guide
Without Ana, Lucio, Mercy, Symmetra and Zenyatta your team can have a hard time.
- Position: It is important with the support class that you always fight behind your team and keep an eye on everyone. At the forefront you plug in quickly and can hardly contribute effectively.
- Self-protection: Even if you provide support behind the team, you are still in relative proximity to a team member. You cannot survive against genjis and tracers without protection.
- Decide game: Your ultimate skills can decide the game or give you a big advantage. Therefore, save these skills until your team starts a push. Again, don't wait too long because your abilities often reload quickly.
We will introduce you to the different game modes of Overwatch in the next practical tip.
