Overwatch deserter punishment: that's behind it
To ensure that Overwatch remains fair for all players, Blizzard introduced the deserter penalty some time ago. In this practical tip, we explain when you can meet this penalty and how you can get rid of the penalty.
Deserted punishment at Overwatch - memo for Rage-Quince
- Whoever receives the Deserter penalty in Overwatch will have to play the next game with an XP reduction of 75 percent. So on the one hand you hardly get any loot boxes and on the other hand you hardly level up.
- Players who leave the match before the end of the round will be penalized. This applies to both the Competitive game mode and the Quickplay mode. As soon as the preparation time is over, you should not leave the game.
- Overwatch tracks the data of your last 20 games. If you leave too many laps early, you will receive the penalty for deseration. Blizzard does not disclose exactly how many.
- You can only get rid of the penalty by playing a certain number of games (around 10 to 20) without leaving the match early.
In the next practical tip, we'll explain how Blizzard deals with users of Aimbots and whether they can actually remain undetected.
