Overwatch: save personal highlights - how it works
Spectacular killstreaks or other cool actions can be saved as highlights in Overwatch. Here we tell you how to save the small clips and whether you need certain programs.
Overwatch: Save personal highlights in-game
Highlights are short in-game videos that show the highlights of the matches. With the new highlight system, you can record them directly in the game.
- With an update, the five automatically generated top 5 highlights are now available 24 hours a day.
- The section "Recently added" is new. You can set a button that you can use to generate a twelve-second highlight movie that is saved in the last game recordings.
- You can change the key assignment for the record key as you like in the options.
- You can save up to 32 sequences of the self-recorded highlights.
- Under "Save highlights" you can export the films as video files. Even videos with 4K and 60fps can be created on the PC. In the console version, the videos are saved in the respective media library.
Save highlights with ShadowPlay and other tools
You can also use external recording programs such as ShadowPlay, Fraps or Dxtory to save on the PC. We use ShadowPlay as an example to show you how you can record the highlights. The program is available free of charge for all Nvidia graphics cards. The procedure is similar with the other programs mentioned.
- Open Nvida Geforce Experience and go to Settings.
- Set a shortcut there to manually start recording later in the game.
- Then activate ShadowPlay and start Overwatch.
- If you get highlights in the main menu or have been "Play of the Game", press the defined key combination to start recording.
- To end the clip, press the key combination again. You will then find the highlight under the storage path that you specified in the ShadowPlay settings.
We will explain to you in the next practical tip whether and how you can play Overwatch in the split screen.
