Overwatch: Game server connection failed - you can do that
Overwatch thrills millions of fans and lets you fight nasty creatures. If the connection to the game server has failed, there may be a problem with your internet connection. In this game tip we show you what you can do about it.
Overwatch Multiplayer: Connection to the game server failed
- First, make sure that you have a constant internet connection. To do this, you can simply open a page of your choice in your browser.
- If there are any problems here, check your internet connection. In some cases it can help if you disconnect the router from the power supply for approx. 10 seconds.
- If you have an internet connection, the game may be blocked by an antivirus or firewall. Therefore, deactivate both tools as a test.
- If the error no longer occurs afterwards, we will show you how to allow Overwatch in your firewall and how to set an exception in your antivirus program.
Other solutions: Server connection problems with Overwatch
- It is possible that the game servers are not available due to overload. So try again later.
- In the Allestault.de portal, you can see whether users have currently reported problems with the servers.
- If there are many messages, the server is likely to fail. With relatively few reports, the error may be yours.
- Before you start the game, you should prematurely end all downloads, uploads and updates so that you get the full bandwidth.
