Owncloud: Internal Server Error - this can be the reason
If you receive the error message "Internal Server Error" on your Owncloud, the causes can be varied. In this practical tip, we will show you what you can do about it.
Owncloud internal server error - what to do?
- In most cases you will see this error if there are problems with the access rights.
- Open the ".htaccess" file on your server with the editor and check whether the entry "Options + FollowSymLinks" is there.
- If this is the case, place a diamond in front of the entry so that it is excluded.
- You should also check the permissions on the Owncloud directories. All folders may only have the value "640", otherwise this error can occur.
- Owncloud files must be "750" for the cloud to work properly.
If you want to encrypt your Owncloud, we will show you in the next practical tip how it works.
