Pages for Mac: insert page numbers - how it works
The following practical tip shows you how to insert page numbers in Pages for Mac.
How to insert page numbers in Pages for Mac
Similar to MS Office Word, the Mac variant Pages offers you an option to insert the page number in a document.
- Open your file with Pages.
- At the bottom of the page, move over the first free line below the text.
- A border appears for the footer. If this is not the case, activate it by ticking "Footer" under "View"> "Info window"> "Document configuration".
- Click in the outline. The "Insert page number" option appears. Choose this.
- Decide on formatting by clicking on it (see screenshot).
- If you want to insert the page number in a header, repeat steps 3 to 5.
The instructions refer to Mac OS X 10.9.5 and Pages version 5.2.2. Read other articles on how to adjust line spacing in Pages and create a diagram in Pages for Mac.
