Paint.NET: create flames - how it works
In this practical tip, we will show you how to create flames with Paint.NET.
Paint.NET: create flames
- Open Paint.NET and use the "Gradient" tool to create a gradient from black to white. Start at the top and drag the gradient to the bottom of the image.
- Press [F7] and click "Add New Layer".
- Select the empty top level. Press [F4] and select "Overlay" under "Mode".
- Now click on the "Effects" -> "Playback" tab and select "Clouds".
- Leave the values, but change the "blend method" to "difference" and confirm with "OK".
- Now press [CTRL] + [F] 2-3 times until you reach a flame-like cloud shape.
- Then click on "Merge layer down" in the layer window.
- Switch to the "Curves" tab under the "Corrections" tab, set the mode to "RGB" and check the green and blue boxes.
- Move the point of the blue line to the middle of the field at the bottom right. Move the point of the green line into the middle of the field to the left. Then confirm by clicking on "OK".
