Paint.NET: brighten photos - how it works
If the sun disappears just behind the clouds, the vacation photos are usually darker than intended. In this practical tip, we explain how you can lighten photos with Paint.NET.
Brighten photos with Paint.NET - how it works
You can brighten your photo optically in just a few simple steps.
- Open your photo with Paint.NET.
- Click on "Effects" and under "Photo" select the item "Lights".
- For now, only move the first controller ("radius"). Choose a value between 1 and 5. This value depends on how dark your photo is.
- Then optionally change the "Brightness" and "Contrast" sliders. Here too, select smaller values in the range between -10 and 10.
- Now click on "Corrections" and on "Hue / Saturation".
- Move the "Saturation" slider to 115. This will colorize your photo.
- Note that in this way it is not possible to brighten night shots so that they look like shots during the day.
