Paint.NET: Create lettering with a gradient
You can easily spice up texts in Paint.NET. This practical tip shows you how to create a color gradient in a lettering.
How to add color gradient to a lettering
- First create the desired lettering with the text tool. It is best to leave the rest of the picture, apart from the background color, free of other elements. This makes it easier to apply the color gradient afterwards.
- You can set the two desired colors for the gradient in the text in the color window by selecting primary and secondary colors. By the way: We give you help with the basic functions of Paint.NET in this practical tip.
- Now click on the magic wand (point 1) and then on a free space next to the lettering. This is how you mark everything around the text.
- If you now under "Edit" the "Invert selection" (point 2), only the lettering is marked. If parts of the lettering have not been marked, you can help by holding down [Ctrl] while clicking on the corresponding part with the magic wand.
- With the tool of the same name (point 3) the color gradient finally comes on the lettering. You determine the type of course, for example whether linear or diamond-shaped, using the toolbar above the image area. By dragging the mouse pointer you can set the exact alignment of the gradient.
