Pantaflix: what is it?
The video-on-demand service Pantaflix is in the starting blocks and is ready to stir up the streaming world. You can find out what the provider promises and which features make it special in the following.
Pantaflix: German streaming portal with a love of film
The video-on-demand world seems to be quite strictly divided between a few providers: Amazon, Netflix and Sky dominate the market. Pantaflix wants to remedy this and contribute to the diversity in the film business with an original business concept.
- Behind the project are film producer Dan Maag and actor Matthias Schweighöfer, who have already set up various start-ups.
- Unlike the well-known streaming portals, Pantaflix sees itself more as a marketplace: producers can price their films individually and thus decide how much consumers pay for the respective strip.
- Pantaflix primarily focuses on special cinema: The block-founder wants to see fewer blockbusters, but above all independent productions and foreign insider tips on their platform.
Cinema evening with Pantaflix: This is how the payment model works
- Unlike the streaming giants Amazon or Netflix, you have no monthly flat rate costs, you only pay for the films you want to see.
- Since the films are priced individually by the producers, the cost per strip ranges between 99 cents and 19.99 euros. However, Maag and Schweighöfer assure you that you actually have to pay 20 euros for the fewest films - the majority will be between one and three euros.
- A purchased film is generally available in your account for 30 days. However, if playback starts for the first time, there is a 48-hour period: During this time you can watch the film as often as you like, but then it will be removed from your library.
