PayPal's conflict resolution is intended to help strengthen customer security. If, for example, you have not received the goods that have already been paid for, you can have the problem resolved using PayPal's so-called conflict resolution.
PayPal conflict resolution: submit a complaint to the seller
If you pay with eBay on eBay or other online shops, you automatically benefit from PayPal buyer protection. Buyer protection includes conflict resolution, where PayPal may mediate between you and the seller.
- PayPal Buyer Protection takes effect, for example, if the item you purchased does not match the description or, in the worst case, you have not received any goods. This payment service is not bad, but it can take a while for the conflict to be resolved or for you to get your money back.
- Before the payment service becomes active, you are first required. You must contact the seller and give them the opportunity to compensate for the damage. However, you should hurry, your complaint must be made within 45 days of payment.
- If there is no agreement with the seller, you have 20 days after the 45 days to activate PayPal. If these deadlines pass unused, PayPal Buyer Protection will no longer apply and you will have to try to resolve the conflict without the help of the payment service.
- First, log in to the PayPal website and click on "Conflict Resolution" under "My Account". Then go to "Resolve Conflict" and then "Report a Problem Now". Finally choose "Buyer Protection" and follow the given steps.
- The seller receives a message via PayPal that you have submitted a complaint and has 20 days to respond. So that you do not conflict with the set deadlines, you should contact the seller as soon as possible and do not wait for the 45 days.
- Note: If you bought the item on eBay, call up the buyer protection in your eBay account. To do this, go to "Clarify problems" under "My eBay" and then to "Customer service".
PayPal conflict resolution: Report conflicts with the seller PayPal
If the seller does not reach an acceptable conflict resolution or does not respond to your complaint, you can turn on PayPal. The best thing to do is immediately.
- To inform PayPal, go to "Conflict resolution" in your PayPal account and select the processing number of the conflict
- Then go to the "Buyer Protection" option and after clicking on "Next" you can submit the problem to PayPal.
- If the seller is unable to prove that everything went well, PayPal Buyer Protection takes effect. In this case PayPal reimburses you the entire purchase price as well as the shipping costs.
- By the way: Some goods, such as digital products, vehicles and services are not covered by buyer protection.
