Overdraw PayPal account - is that possible?
If you don't have enough money in your account, you can mostly overdraw it. In this article, we will tell you whether and how this works with PayPal.
Overdrawing PayPal's account is possible
If you pay with PayPal even though your account balance is insufficient, the process will not fail. On the contrary:
- If you have selected automatic collection as a debit from PayPal, the sum will be debited from your deposited bank account without your PayPal account becoming negative. This means that your PayPal account will only be overdrawn if your normal account also goes into the red.
- If you post the amount you need to your PayPal account yourself every time, you have to balance your negative account balance within 90 days. Otherwise, your account will be restricted until you have paid the debts.
- You can carry out this step at any time in your PayPal account under "Balance money". If you can no longer log in because you forgot your password, you will find the account details for the alternative transfer on the PayPal page.
- We will also help you if you forget your PayPal login.
If you have any more questions about your PayPal account, you will find the PayPal contact details here.
