PayPal account blocked - what to do?
If your PayPal account is blocked, it is very annoying. Because most of the time you only notice this when you are about to pay when shopping online. Here's what you need to do to unlock your account.
PayPal account blocked - the most common reasons
If your PayPal account is blocked, you must contact PayPal immediately. Especially if there is no apparent reason to block the account. If you know the reason, you should first try to remedy the shortcoming:
- If your PayPal account is currently in the red, the problem can be quickly remedied by balancing it.
- If there are still open buyer protection applications, you should clarify them first.
- The blocking of the account may not be due to misconduct on your part. PayPal also locks accounts if strange movements are detected on the respective account and if someone tries to access your account without authorization.
- You can reach customer service by phone on the free number 0800 723 4500. The hotline is open from Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. and on weekends from 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Before you pick up the phone, you should first prepare your customer service pin.
- Of course you can also contact customer service via email: Select the Contact option on the PayPal customer service page. You then have to enter your email address and password, after which you can report your problem in writing.
If you have been so upset about PayPal that you want to do without PayPal in the future, you can delete your PayPal account.
