Paysafecard validity: When does the credit expire?
If you buy a Paysafecard on offer or in stock, you should always keep an eye on its validity. We'll tell you when and whether a Paysafecard expires.
Paysafecard: Credit does not expire, but it will decrease
If you buy a Paysafecard, it has no expiry date. Nevertheless, the value of your Paysafecard will decrease over time. This is the case if you store the Paysafecard unused for too long.
- In the first 12 months after purchase, a Paysafecard has full value. From the 12th month, there is a monthly fee of 2 euros. It is always debited from the card on the 1st of the month.
- For example: If you buy the Paysafecard for 50 euros on January 15, 2017, the credit on the card will be in full by January 15, 2018. As of February 1, 2018, the card will only be charged with 48 euros, on March 1, only with 46 euros and so on.
- Important: As soon as you use the Paysafecard for payment, the period of 12 months applies again. If fees soon arise with a Paysafecard, it is sufficient to make a payment for a few cents or euros with the Paysafecard. After that, the period is extended again by 12 months.
