PC no longer recognizes smartphone - the best tips
If your PC no longer recognizes your smartphone, there is not necessarily a defect in your device. In this practical tip, we will give you a few tricks that may help you reconnect your smartphone to your PC.
1. Restart the smartphone
What sounds very simple usually works: a restart has often solved problems and is therefore always the first approach. Restart your smartphone. If this doesn't solve the problem, you can try the other tricks little by little before you have your smartphone repaired.
2. Restart the PC
If restarting the smartphone does not solve the problem, you can also restart your PC for safety reasons. If a restart does not remedy this, you can gradually carry out the next steps.
3. Is there a defect in the USB cable?
A defective USB cable could also be the trigger for the problem. To rule out a defect in the USB cable, you can test another USB cable, if available. If the fault is not with the cable, you can continue with the next step.
4. Is the smartphone recognized on another USB port?
A defect in the USB port can also be the reason why your PC no longer recognizes your smartphone. Connect your cell phone to the PC via a different USB port - it doesn't matter whether it is the same PC or a different one. Proceed to the next step if your smartphone is not recognized on another USB port.
5. Replace the smartphone
If the other tricks don't work, you can try it again as a last try before you have your smartphone repaired. Make sure to back up all your important and personal data before the reset, as this will be lost!

If everything else fails: have the smartphone repaired
If the tricks described do not work, there is most likely a defect in the USB port of your smartphone. It is best to discuss further steps with your dealer. Such a defect is usually repaired free of charge within the warranty period; outside of the guarantee period, the manufacturer will give you a cost estimate for the repair.
