If your PC cannot find your network printer directly, this may be due to the network connection or the printer settings. Here are some tips to help you set up your device successfully.
Find network printer on the PC
Often the problem is with the printer's network connection or the lack of a driver on the computer.
- Working connection of your printer to the network - with most printers you can print a test report after setting up the cable or WLAN connection. Here's how to see if you're connected to your network.
- Install the printer driver - even if you do not connect the printer directly to the PC with a USB cable, in some cases you will need to install a driver. If no driver is included on CD, you can always find the latest drivers on the corresponding manufacturer's website. Here you can quickly get to the best-known printer manufacturers: Epson, HP and Canon.
- You can also enter your printer's network address manually. To do this, click on "The printer I am looking for is not listed" in the setup wizard. The "Add printer using a TCP / IP address" option allows you to enter the printer address manually in the next step. You can see the address in the printer test report.
- You can also help the connection by restarting the router.
- If you are still unable to connect to the network printer using these tips, there are probably access restrictions in your router. Read the manual for the device.
