PC: Retrofit HDMI - how it works
If you lack the HDMI connection on the PC, you can retrofit it in several ways. We'll show you the options.
Retrofit HDMI via USB, adapter or graphics card
- Graphics card: An HDMI connection is always connected directly to the graphics card. If you have already thought about a new graphics card or your PC is quite underperforming, the investment can be worthwhile. Inexpensive graphics cards with HDMI connections are available for less than 50 euros.
- USB adapter: The HDMI connection can also be retrofitted via a USB input. The following HDMI graphics adapter costs around 70 euros and is simply connected to the computer via USB. With the associated driver, image and sound are transmitted to the screen via HDMI via the adapter.
- Display port: Laptops are becoming ever thinner and lighter, so that many connections are no longer required. Many newer models have a mini display port connection. With the appropriate HDMI adapter, retrofitting is no longer necessary.
