Play PC games on the PSP - how it works
Simple PC games can also be played on the PSP with a small tool. We'll show you how it's done.
Step 1: Download DosBox for PSP
- First download the "DosBox for PSP" tool by clicking the "Download here" button at the top right.
- Open the RAR file and unzip the folder "Dosbox" contained therein.
- Now connect your PSP to the computer using a USB cable or remove the SD card from the PSP and insert it into the PC.
- Look for the "Games" or "Games" folder on the SD card.
- Now insert the "Dosbox" folder into this folder. All games that you want to install also belong in the "Games" or "Games" folder.
Step 2: Download PC games to the PSP
Since DosBox simulates a very small Windows system, only very undemanding games can be started.
- You can find such DOS games on the Abandonia.com website. Choose a game here and download it.
- The game is again in a RAR file. In the "Games" folder on the SD card, create a new folder with the name of the downloaded game and insert all files and subfolders there.
- Then disconnect your PSP from the computer or reinsert the SD card into the PSP.
Step 3: Start DosBox on the PSP
- Restart your PSP and select the SD card in the main menu.
- Search for the DosBox here and start it. You will then see the black DOS window.
- To make an entry here, press the circle button. Now the virtual keyboard opens, which you can use to make entries.
Step 4: play PC games on the PSP
- First write the command "cd / games" and tap the "Enter" key.
- Next, write "cd / XXX". Replace the entry "XXX" with the name of the folder with the desired game.
- Finally, type in the name of the EXE file that starts the game, for example "game.exe".
- Then the game opens. However, you first have to get used to the complicated control with the PSP.
