PC and projector: Set the correct resolution
Because the resolution of your PC and that of the projector can be set independently of one another, you always project an optimal image. This way you can read your notes well from your computer without having to narrow your eyes. We'll show you how to make the right settings.
Optimally set the resolution of the projector and notebook
If your notebook only manages a resolution of 1600 x 900, your projector can still project a picture of 1920 x 1080 (or higher) on the screen. Different resolutions can be set by duplicating the display. This means that each device maintains its native resolution:
- Connect the projector to your PC and wait until the device has been recognized.
- If there is a distorted picture (on the projector or on the computer), press the [Windows] + [P] keys at the same time.
- Select "Double" as the display option.
- Now go to "Control Panel" and from there continue via the path "Appearance and Personalization"> "Display".
- Click on "Adjust resolution" on the left side.
- Here you can see the current resolution for your PC and for the projector.
- With the slider you can change the resolution so that a clear picture is created. In most cases, the settings recommended by Windows are suitable.
To ensure that your presentation really comes into its own, we will show you in the next practical tip how to find the right projector screen. These instructions refer to Windows 7.
