Convert PDF to a GIF file - Here's how
This guide shows you how to convert individual images from a PDF to a GIF or save the entire document as an image
Save the image from a PDF as a GIF - that's how you do it
A PDF document often consists of several pages, which can contain text and image elements. You cannot convert this document into a GIF file so quickly because a GIF is a pure image file. You can save the picture elements of a PDF document as a GIF without any problems:
- Open the PDF file with a normal PDF reader, such as Adobe Reader.
- Right-click on an image in the document to copy it to your computer's clipboard. We show this in detail in this practical tip and the video below.
- Now open an image editing program of your choice (e.g. Paint, Paint.NET or Photoshop).
- Here you can now insert the image from your clipboard with the key combination [Ctrl] + [V].
- Finally, save the individual image using "File" and "Save as". Now select the GIF format in the "Format" field.
- Read our instructions on how to open PDF files in Gimp.
- You can then save the file as a GIF ("File"> "Export") or make it a moving GIF image
