PDF: Separate individual pages - how it works
Even the largest PDF files can be separated into individual pages with the right tool. In this way, you receive a separate PDF document for each page, which you can edit further. We'll show you how it works and how to extract a single page from a PDF file.
Separate PDF into individual pages
Neither with the board means of Windows nor from MacOS can you completely break down a PDF document into its individual pages. Here you need additional software such as PDFsam Basic that runs on all systems.
- Download the free PDF tool and start it on your computer.
- In the main window click on "Add" and select the PDF file to be shared.
- Then check the box "Disassemble into individual pages".
- Click on "Disassemble PDF files!" and select the location of the individual files. Then "PDFsam" divides your document.
PDF: Extract only one page
If you do not want to create a new file for every page of a PDF document, you can extract only individual pages. You don't even need any extra software for this.
- Open the desired PDF file as usual in your PDF viewer.
- Then press the key combination [Windows] + [P] under Windows and the shortcut [Apple] + [P] under MacOS.
- In the print window, Windows users select "Microsoft Print to PDF" and Mac users "PDF" as printers.
- Now enter the desired page in the "Pages" section and click on "Print".
- Find the desired storage location for the single page and save the file with "OK".
