Open PDF in the browser
This guide shows you how to open a PDF file in the browser - for Chrome and Firefox as well as for Internet Explorer.
Open PDF in Chrome
- A PDF reader is pre-installed in the factory in Chrome, which you can use to open PDF documents in the Chrome browser. If this is deactivated, you can activate it under the URL chrome: // plugins /.
- Alternatively, you can also use Adobe Acrobat Reader. This can also be activated under chrome: // plugins /.
- You can also open PDF documents from your hard drive in Chrome. To do this, right-click on the corresponding file and select "Open with". Select "Select standard program", mark Chrome and tick "Always open file type with the selected program".
Open PDF in Firefox
- A PDF reader is also supplied as standard in Firefox. To activate it, open the settings via the menu icon and click on "Applications".
- The "Preview in Firefox" option is available in the drop-down menu next to "Portable Document Format (PDF)", with which you can open PDF documents directly in the browser.
- Alternatively, the Adobe Reader can also be selected here.
Open PDF in Internet Explorer
- PDF documents can be opened in Internet Explorer without an additional add-on.
- Alternatively, you can use Adobe Reader. To do this, click on the menu icon and select "Manage add-ons". Then click on "All Add-Ons" under "Show" and activate "Adobe PDF Reader".
