Sign PDFs with the Mac preview - how it works
The program preview under MacOS not only shows you PDF files, you can even sign them. So you put your signature under contracts or invoices and do not have to laboriously print out the documents.
Sign PDF files in Mac preview
To be able to sign your PDFs directly, you have to add a signature:
- Start the program preview and open the desired PDF file. Scroll down to where you want to insert your signature.
- Click on "View" and select the entry "Show toolbar".
- In the toolbar you will find the "Signature" or "Sig" item on the far right. From the drop-down menu, select "Create FaceTime Camera Signature ...".
- Write your name on a piece of paper and hold it in front of your camera.
- Your Mac now creates your signature from it. Once the process is complete, close the window.
- Select the "Signature" entry again and then your scanned signature.
- Finally, drag the signature to the position where you want to insert it.
The preview in MacOS can do much more. You can also use it to combine PDF files, for example.
