Parsley: healthy ingredients, vitamins & Co.
The parsley contains various substances that are healthy and vital for our body.
- Parsley contains the vitamins A, B, C and E in comparatively large quantities and is therefore an important supplier of these substances. These are essential in the body for cell growth, metabolism, the supply of oxygen and for protection against free radicals.
- There is also plenty of folic acid in parsley. This is responsible for cell division, blood formation and growth.
- A substance that parsley also provides is iron. The trace element is responsible for the oxygen transport in the human body as well as for the muscles and the liver.
- Parsley also contains the essential oils Myristicin and Apiol, which give it the characteristic taste.
Effect of parsley
Various studies indicate that parsley has a positive effect on the body:
- A study by the University of Missouri has shown that the substance apigenin, which is also contained in parsley, significantly slows down the growth of tumor cells. Clinical studies have not been able to confirm this.
- Parsley counteracts rheumatism because the substances it contains increase the activity of the enzyme superocide dismutase. The enzyme destroys rheumatism cells in the body and frees the body from toxins.
- The essential oils already mentioned can lead to smokers not reaching for the next cigarette so quickly.
- Parsley has a draining effect. This leads to the urinary tract being cleaned. Parsley also helps with blood formation, absorption of nutrients and the release of cholesterol from the veins.
