Philips TV: How to install an update
To update the firmware of your Philips Smart TV, download the update either via an internet connection or via a USB stick. We show you in our instructions how both works.
Start Philips update via internet connection
If your TV is online, you can install an update on your Philips TV in just a few steps. Depending on the model, you can establish a connection via WLAN or LAN cable.
- Press the "Home" button on your Philips remote control and then navigate to the "Configuration" menu item.
- Next, select the "Update software" option.
- In the next window select "Internet". Now the system checks for updates. If an update is available, start the download and complete the installation. Please note the information on your screen.
Update TV software with USB stick
Your Philips TV does not always find the latest software. You can enter the model number of your television on the Philips website and compare the software updates presented here with your current version.
- You need a USB stick with at least 256 MB. You should format this in the "FAT32" file format.
- Now download the correct software for your TV from the Philips website and move the file to your stick.
- If you now insert the stick into the USB slot of your TV, the update should start automatically. Alternatively, press the "Home" button and select the configuration. Open the "Update software" option and choose the "USB" option.
