Photoshop: Remove haze - so it'll work
As atmospheric as a light veil can be in photos, sometimes haze also disturbs. In this tutorial we will show you how to remove it in Photoshop.
The easiest way to remove haze
You can remove light haze in just a few simple steps.
- Open the image in Photoshop and duplicate the layer with your photo.
- For the duplicated layer, set the mode from "Normal" to "Multiply" or "Copy into one another".
- Play a little with the opacity of the duplicate layer to achieve sharpness and contrast.
The better way to remove haze
Photoshop can also be used to make the result finer and more detailed.
- Open the image in Photoshop, duplicate the layer with your photo and create a smart object.
- You first sharpen this smart object via "Filter" -> "Sharpening filter" -> "Sharpen", but only a little.
- In the next step navigate to "Image" -> "Adjust" -> "Gradation Curves" and use it to slightly increase the contrast.
- Finally, change the blending mode to "soft light" or "copy into each other", depending on how strong you want the effect.
