Photoshop: align layers - how it works
In this guide, we explain step by step how to align layers in Photoshop.
Align layers in Photoshop
- To align layers in Photoshop, first choose the "Move" tool.
- Use the layer selection on the right edge of the screen to mark all the layers you want to align.
- In the selection bar at the top of the screen, you now have various options for aligning the layers: The options "Align upper edges", "Align to vertical central axis", "Align lower edges", "Align left edges" and "Align right edges" to disposal.
- Alternatively, you can also select the "Align layers automatically" item. There are various projection options here: In addition to "Auto", you can also select "Perspective", "Collage", "Cylindrical", "Spherical" or "Reposition".
- Optionally, the vignetting distance and the "geometric distortion" can be activated.
- You can find detailed explanations of the individual points at Adobe in the help area for Photoshop.
Note: These instructions refer to Adobe Photoshop CS6. In the next article, we'll show you how to automatically blend layers in Photoshop.
