Photoshop Elements: Correct image noise
In this guide, we'll explain how to use Photoshop Elements to correct noise.
Correct image noise with Photoshop Elements
- Start Photoshop Elements and open the photo you want to fix.
- Then click on "Reduce noise" in the menu bar under "Filters" and "Noise filter" (see screenshot). A new window opens with a preview function.
- First set the zoom to 100% below the preview window. This makes it easier for you to understand the strength of your subsequent settings and to better assess the changes.
- To reduce the dominance noise in your image, you have to move the slider in the "Strength" option. The level "0" is the initial situation of your recording.
- Under "Reduce color noise" you can reduce the color noise in your photo. Both settings must be set individually to the degree of image noise. Therefore, use the preview mode to adapt these two filter functions to one another as best as possible.
- The more you use the filters, the more intensely your image is blurred in the individual areas of the image noise. This means that important details are sometimes lost, but you can display them again under "Get details". Tip: The detail controller works against the other two controllers. He draws sharply again and thereby supports the image noise again.
- With this method you can only reduce and correct the effect of the image noise, but unfortunately not completely remove it.
