Photoshop: create a mask - how it works
This guide shows you how to create a mask in Photoshop.
Create a mask in Photoshop
- To create a layer mask in Photoshop, select the corresponding layer and click on "Add layer mask" at the bottom right of the screen.
- If you want to carry out the process at the background layer, you must first duplicate it by right-clicking.
- If you want to create a selection mask, select the corresponding area with the quick selection tool, the magic wand or the selection tool and then click on "Add layer mask".
- The mask is displayed in the layer in the thumbnail view. Right-click to open the "Mask Options" to adjust the opacity.
- If you want to remove the mask, right-click on the "Deactivate layer mask" option.
