If you're looking for a tool for cropping color in Photoshop, you won't find it in the tool selection. We will show you where you can find the selection and which settings you can make.
Color selection in Photoshop - here you will find the tools
One of the most important functions in Photoshop is the selection: whether intelligent, fast, with lasso or magic wand - Photoshop offers all these possibilities. A selection function, however, is much more hidden: the selection and marking of a certain color.
- You can find this in the menu bar under "Selection"> "Color range". You can then set various options in the new window.
- With the color selection you can now choose a color from your picture. To do this, simply click anywhere in the image.
- With the small icons on the right side of the options window you can add (+) or remove (-) additional colors.
- Under "Tolerance" you can change the strength of the selection as usual. If you set a higher value, similar colors are also selected. You can check your changes immediately in the small preview window. With the "Selection preview" you can also view the marked area larger on your open image.
- If you tick "localized color groups", you restrict your selection to certain areas of the image. You can now adjust the scope of your color selection under "Range".
- With a click on "OK" the color selection is applied to your opened picture. Now you can remove the color, for example, or use "Selection"> "Invert selection" to separate an object from the background and copy it to the clipboard for further processing.
