The results are not always optimal, especially with lenses of cheaper design. You can correct lens errors in Photoshop. We show you how to do it here.
Automatic correction in Photoshop - the ideal solution for lens defects
- Open the Photoshop submenu Filter> Lens correction: Here you will find selection criteria for the camera model, lens and focal length used in the right side menu - sorted by manufacturer and possible lenses.
- Compare these criteria with the camera and lens you are using - if Photoshop has not already done it itself.
- Photoshop then uses databases to correct the distortion, chromatic aberration or even vignetting of your camera-lens combination.
Fine adjustments - Manual Photoshop settings
- If there is no camera and lens model or manual fine tuning, you can freely influence all values in the rear tab "User-defined" of the lens correction menu.
- Here you can even determine, for example, the individual color edges of the chromatic aberration or the angle of the transformation.
Tip: save the camera profile in Photoshop
- You can also save the settings for correcting your personal camera so that you can use them automatically for several pictures.
- In the lens correction> User-defined, select the "Save settings" option in the context menu of the settings.
- Afterwards you can quickly apply the personal camera profile to other photos in the same menu with "Load settings".
