Photoshop: create brushes - how it works
Although Photoshop has many brushes to download, it is often helpful to create your own presets. We'll show you how it works.
Create brushes in Photoshop - that's how it's done
- First you have to decide whether you want to use an existing image as a brush or whether you want to create something yourself. If you want to use a finished image, open it in Photoshop. You can still make some corrections, but note that brushes are saved in black and white.
- Otherwise, open an empty space in Photoshop and create the image that you want your new brush to be. Crop the image as small as possible. The maximum size allowed for brushes is 250 by 250 pixels.
- Then click "Edit" and then click "Set Brush Preset".
- Now you can give your new brush a name.
- Now the new brush is displayed in the selection window and you can use it.
